Hi. I mostly like to write stories about daughters and their fathers, but I dabble in other things too. My favorite things include incestual yearning, emotional power dynamics, violence against tomboys, and TRUE LOVE...
I’m inspired by Haruko Ichikawa’s delicate, abstract storytelling, Porpentine’s ability to connect one’s fears and desires, and, oh, also the violent BL I consumed as an unmonitored child on the internet.
I can be a bit of a romantic, but it's difficult to find stories that cater to my specific needs. Writing is all about finding fascination in something that won't let your brain go and then wringing it with your hands until you’ve finally made sense of it. My something is the juxtaposition of tenderness and violence. How two opposites try to escape but also find each other, always at odds with the pain of each other’s existence, but ultimately tangling into a single entity. I write to better understand the fear of love because it always comes at the price of violence, and I write to express the desire for violence because sometimes love can only be felt through pain.
Non-poetic translation: Who needs therapy when you can write incest!
On another note, a lesser yet still important for reason why I write is because racial stories created in the Western world are often highly sanitized and made easily consumable for white eyes. While I know there's a reason behind media like this, I personally refuse to write things stripped of the nuanced experiences found in the overlap between race, taboo, and trauma. The second-generation immigrant experience is important to me. Please keep in mind that my slop can be enjoyed by anyone, but there may things some people don't understand and are invisible to them, and that's okay.
